LOCAL

Within easy reach of The Chequers, at the foot of the Chiltern hills, you will find the Icknield Way. This is a section of the Ridgeway National Trail that crosses Hill Road on the south east side of Watlington.

The Chequers can gaurantee that you will see beautiful Red Kites soaring over the Watlington rooftops. Be careful when leaving your meal unattended in our garden!

Nearby in the High Street you will find unique specialist shops and eateries. A few yards from the pub you will discover a footpath leading to pleasant walks towards Pyrton and Cuxham. There is access from Love Lane to the local recreation ground that includes free circuit training equipment, rollerskate and skateboard bowl.
